Goodbye warm showers and ginger soap, pearly bubbles and misty bathrooms. Goodbye silky dresses and soft blue jeans that slid over my warm, smooth skin. Clothes that made me feel like I could take on the world, or at least my little corner of it. Goodbye butterflies at making eye-contact; you reminded me I was alive. That soul-tingling warmth made me realize that someone else was alive too. Goodbye living for the moment, for the first kiss, for a single touch, the departing hugs, and every understanding in-between. Nothing in the afterlife can replace those conversations where I realized that I was truly understood. Goodbye flannel sheets in winter and sprawling naps in summer. And as the glowing pale moon understands, a heartfelt goodbye to that one blanket that always kept even my soul warm. Goodbye to living simple days with simple pleasures; I'll miss you more than I could ever comprehend. |
